North Windham Union Church, UCC in Windham, Maine is seeking to hire a Music Minister/Director.
Due to the virus pandemic, our choir program has been suspended at the present moment. We hope to resume the program when conditions are deemed safe – and at that point we will need someone with skills and experience to lead the choir. For the foreseeable future we are focused on replacing the Pianist/Organist position, but preference will be given to those with qualifications to also lead our choir program.
Our Music Minister/Director will lead and direct the church music program to include choral, vocal, and instrumental expressions of the experience of faith. Candidates must have strong choral directing background and proven ability to inspire and motivate others to express their faith through music. We have a talented and dedicated 12-18-member adult choir with a large repertoire of anthems. We seek candidates with a visionary plan to collaborate with the Pastor and Music Committee to lead the music program, which also includes helping manage a very successful community outreach concert series, Music with a Mission. This is a contracted, part-time salaried position, requiring approximately 10-12 hours per week for planning, preparation and services. The salary is commensurate with abilities and experience. Please send a cover letter and resume to Rev. Debra Girard: Pastordebbienwucc@gmail.com
