The semi-annual meeting of NWUC will be held on May 31st immediately after worship. Election of new board and committee members will be held. Please plan to attend as a quorum is needed to conduct business.
Also, May 31st will be our last Sunday with Dane Grondin as our accompanist. Dane has served NWUC faithfully over the past four and one-half years and been a good friend to many in our church family. There will be a brief reception after worship and before the semi-annual meeting to recognize Dane for his service to our congregation

Royal River Chorus is a fun-loving group of talented women who share a love of harmony. Master Director Wendi Mc Pike, a trained music educator, inspires this award winning chorus to reach new heights at each rehearsal. They share their gift of music and barbershop harmony with audiences big and small in the Greater Portland area throughout the year. Be sure to visit their Fried Clam booth and be entertained by impromptu singing at the Clam Festival !
This group of women come from all backgrounds to join together in music, but develop lifelong friendships and find a support network like none other. Membership is always open, and you are invited to join them any Thursday night at rehearsal in Westbrook at the American Legion Hall on Dunn St. Ask any member for more information or check out our website at royalriver.org.

As we reported earlier, Dane Grondin has given his notice and decided to leave his position as the accompanist for North Windham Union Church. Dane has done a great job since joining us over 4 years ago while still a student at USM. As you recall, Dane was married last summer, and now he and his wife Rachel look forward to worshipping together at her church in Portland. The good news is that we found a very capable replacement to take Dane’s seat on the bench soon after he departs! We are delighted to report that Nell Britton will join the team to support the music program at NWUC starting this summer. Nell is graduating from USM this spring with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. She plans to start a graduate program in piano performance and choral conducting at USM in the fall. Nell is currently under contract as a choral accompanist for a church in Brunswick through June. While she may be able to fill in here for one or two Sundays before then, we look forward to having Nell start full time in July. Dane has graciously agreed to stay on here at NWUC into the spring. While we are still working out the details of his final weeks, we look forward to recognizing Dane’s contributions and thanking him for his service when he finishes up. We feel very fortunate to have enjoyed Dane’s talents over the past four years – and we are equally fortunate to have a capable replacement on the way!
